— Let’s start with an introduction from the new member, Jun!
J: Nice to meet you! I’m the youngest member of U-KISS, Jun. Please take care of me! I’ll do my best.
— What are you responsible for?
J: Rap.
SH: He is a multi-player (skilled) and can rap, sing and dance!
— What is the theme or feature of your 9th single “LOVE ON U”?
SH: Firstly “LOVE ON U” is an up-tempo song and is a song that we can enjoy together with our fans. This song is a collaboration song for the jewelry brand “THE KISS”. We added a choreography to this song which we originally didn’t have and filmed the MV. It was titled “LOVE ON U” and we prepared for it so we could show you a new U-KISS.
— Is there a part you particularly like?
E: I do! I like the choreo where Kiseop sings “LOVE ON U~”.
— What kind of dance is it?
KS: It’s easy to learn and a cheerful one.
SH: Although it’s a little difficult. (laugh)
— Are there any parts you felt were difficult?
KS: None! It was easy. (laugh)
KV: I don’t think so. (laugh)
SH: For the high pitched part of this song, Kiseop always practices using his voice “Ah-Ah-Ah! Ma-!” before-hand. It’s not easy!
KS: No (it isn’t). (laugh)
SH: I think this, not only about “LOVE ON U” but also about other songs too but…I think singing whilst dancing is the toughest. Especially physically! We get out of breath.
— Jun, what difficulties are you having with your first time promoting in Japan?
J: Nothing yet!
KV: Studying Japanese, right?
SH: He’s not doing it at all and I’m angry. (laugh)
— Soohyun, can’t you be his Japanese teacher?
SH: I’m not good enough either. (laugh)
— In the MV making, Jun, you said that the scariest senior/hyung was Soohyun, didn’t you? What is scary about him?
J: Everything!
(Members laugh out loud)
KV: After this interview ends…he’ll probably get told off (by Soohyun) (laugh)
SH: (To Jun) This (interview) will end soon (laugh), just you wait. (laugh)
— Where did you take the MV?
SH: In Korea.
— Roughly how long did it take?
SH: It always takes about 30 hours to film a MV. This time, it was tough because the 2 places we filmed at for the MV were far away from each other!
E: It took about 1.5 hours to get there by car. I think it was around June.
— Was it hot already?
KS: It wasn’t that hot yet.
— Your outfits looked hot.
KV: It was hot! We were all okay when we were being filmed but the stylists were trying their hardest fanning the members (with uchiwas = handheld fans) and they felt ill (cry)
— The lyrics for “LOVE ON U” is about ending a “secret love”. If you had a secret relationship, where would you go in secret?
SH: I would…go to an island. Just the 2 of us together on a small island…There we would grow our love for each other and passionately speak about love (laugh). With the sea in front of us.
E: I’d got to a desert island! There is a desert island you can rent in the Philippines.
KS: I’d like Hawaii. I’ve never been so I’d like to go together.
J: I’d go to a desert island in Brazil.
KV: A desert island? Is there one in Brazil?
SH: I think he’s just imagining that there is one? (laugh)
KV: Why Brazil?
J: Because I like soccer (laugh)
SH: Thought as much (laugh)
Members: So cute! Such a kid! (laugh)
KV: Everyone is going to an island…I want to go to Greece in Europe! I’ve never been there but I’ve seen in movies…it’s really beautiful there.
— What kind of song is your other recorded song “FEEL IT”
E: Like old style? Isn’t it? The choreo is also kinda like Michael Jackson’s.
SH: It’s pop-ish and I think it’s a song we can show a cool performance.
— You’ll be going to various places on tour for 2 months. Where
are you looking forward to going?
SH: Okinawa! Because we’re going there for the first time with this tour!
— Is there something you are doing in particular in preparations for this tour?
SH: It was tough practicing for this new song while having our Korean activities but we always want to show our fans something new and for that, we try our very best. The theme of this tour is “TREE”. There is a really beautiful tree picture/video and along with U-KISS…there will also be a shining and cute stage. I think it will make you all feel full of happiness.
